Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Measurands respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the enquiries, quotations and supply of instruments and calibration support that follow from it.

1. What is personal data

Personal data means data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data together with other information we have or are likely to have access to. For us that is typically your name, company, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, the content of the enquiry you send us, and whether you have opted in to receive SMS from us. It also includes the IP address and browser identification recorded with an enquiry you submit through this website.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect personal data that you give us directly, including when you:

  • submit an enquiry or quote request through a form on this website (name, company, email, phone number and your requirement or the model you are asking about), and, on our contact form, whether you ticked the box consenting to receive SMS from us;
  • contact us by email, telephone, WhatsApp or in person;
  • use the chat assistant on this website (your messages, and any contact details you type into it, are processed by the chat provider that operates it for us);
  • place an order, arrange delivery, or send an instrument for calibration or service;
  • ask us to keep you informed about products, pricing or availability.

We also collect limited technical data automatically when you use this website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure (for example, to detect automated form abuse) and to understand how the site is used. Where our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, your IP address and browser information are shared with Google for that check.

When you submit an enquiry form, the IP address and browser identification of the device you submitted it from are stored alongside that enquiry record. We keep them so we can investigate spam, abuse and fraudulent submissions, not to build a profile of you.

Please do not send us more personal data than an enquiry needs. In particular, we do not ask for and do not want NRIC or FIN numbers, identity documents, or financial account details through this website.

3. Why we collect, use and disclose personal data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • to respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations;
  • to supply, deliver, calibrate, service and support the instruments you buy from us;
  • to process orders, invoicing and payment, and to keep proper business records;
  • to provide technical, warranty and after-sales support, including product or safety notices;
  • to keep this website secure and to prevent fraud, spam and misuse;
  • to comply with applicable laws and with our obligations to the manufacturers we are authorised to distribute for;
  • to send you marketing or product information, by email where you have consented to receive it, and by SMS where you have ticked the SMS consent box on our contact form.

We only send marketing SMS to people who have ticked that box, and we keep a record of that consent. You can withdraw it at any time, separately from any other consent, using the contact details in section 13. Message frequency varies and your operator's message and data rates may apply.

4. Consent and withdrawal of consent

We collect, use and disclose your personal data with your consent, or where the PDPA otherwise permits or requires it. By submitting an enquiry form you consent to us using the details you provide to respond to that enquiry.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us at sales@measurands.com.sg. You can withdraw a specific consent, such as agreeing to receive marketing SMS or email, without withdrawing the rest. We will act on your request within a reasonable time and tell you the likely consequences, which may include our being unable to continue quoting for, supplying or supporting you. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we lawfully did before the withdrawal, and we may still need to keep records where the law requires it.

5. Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it only where it is needed for the purposes above, and only to:

  • service providers who act for us, such as IT, hosting, database, email delivery, website analytics, online chat, logistics and payment providers;
  • the manufacturers or their regional offices, where a warranty claim, technical support case or product notice requires it;
  • our calibration laboratory partner, where you have asked for calibration or traceable documentation;
  • professional advisers, insurers or auditors, and any party we are required to disclose to by law, a court order or a regulator.

Where we engage a service provider, we require them to protect your personal data to a standard consistent with the PDPA and to use it only for the work we have asked them to do.

6. Access and correction

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, and you may ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete. Write to us at sales@measurands.com.sg and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible. We may need to verify your identity before we release any data. A reasonable fee may apply to an access request; if it does, we will tell you the amount in advance and you can decide whether to proceed.

7. Accuracy

We take reasonable steps to keep personal data accurate and complete, particularly where it will be used to make a decision affecting you or will be disclosed to another organisation. Please tell us if your contact details or company details change so our records stay correct.

8. Protection of personal data

We take reasonable administrative, physical and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal. These include access controls on the systems that hold enquiry records, encryption of data in transit to this website, and limiting access to staff who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we ask you not to send sensitive information through unsecured channels.

9. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes it was collected for, or for as long as we are required to keep it for legal, tax, accounting, warranty or calibration traceability reasons. When personal data is no longer needed for any legal or business purpose, we delete it or anonymise it. You may ask us at any time to delete an enquiry record that we are not required to keep.

10. Transfer of personal data outside Singapore

Some of the service providers we use, such as website hosting, email delivery and analytics, may store or process personal data outside Singapore. Where that happens, we take steps required under the PDPA to satisfy ourselves that the recipient is bound to protect the personal data to a standard comparable to the protection under the PDPA.

11. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work and to keep it secure. Others are set by third parties we use for analytics and advertising measurement, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, so we can see how visitors find and use the site. Our enquiry forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA. The site also carries a chat assistant: if you open it, the conversation you type is sent to and processed by the third party that provides that service for us, and it may set its own cookies to hold the conversation. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as intended.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version is always the one published on this page, and it takes effect from the date it is posted. Please check back from time to time.

13. How to contact us

If you have a question, a request or a complaint about your personal data, or you want to exercise any of the rights described above, contact us and we will pass it to the person responsible for data protection at Measurands:

If we have not resolved your concern, you may raise it with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore at pdpc.gov.sg.
